Massive Fire in aircraft factory

A significant blaze has ravaged a building on the premises of an office in Moscow, Russia, responsible for designing and producing some of President Vladimir Putin's most advanced military aircraft.

This event, reported by Russian media outlets such as MSK1 rather than Ukrainian sources, occurred late last Thursday at the Sukhoi Design Bureau headquarters in the Moscow region, where flames persisted for several hours.

The Sukhoi Design Bureau holds pivotal responsibility for developing numerous Russian military aircraft, including the Su-25, Su-27, Su-28, Su-30, and its most cutting-edge models, the Su-35 and Su-57.

Images circulated on social media depicted a sizable inferno and dense smoke columns rising into the night sky.

Was it Ukraine?

Since President Putin's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has experienced a series of enigmatic fires, often linked to heightened geopolitical tensions.

Recently, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported thwarting a drone assault by Ukrainian forces, targeting Russian regions, including Rostov near the Ukrainian border.

The Ministry of Defense indicated that Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 87 Ukrainian drones, with 70 aimed specifically at the Rostov region.

As international tensions persist and Western nations continue to bolster Ukraine's military capabilities, such incidents may escalate, potentially impacting strategic assets like the Sukhoi Design Bureau.
