Larsson: Barca need signings to win trophies next season

Former Barcelona striker Henrik Larsson has said the club must make signings this summer if they are to be successful once again.

The Catalan giants have already been linked with dozens of players but it remains to be seen if they will be able to strengthen the squad.

Barca are still waiting to find out if they can revert to the 1:1 rule for the summer transfer window, with an announcement expected soon.

Larsson feels that if Barcelona are to avoid another trophyless campaign then they must bring in new players.

“Barcelona needs to be higher next season, but it all depends on how they can sign and how they fix the problems they have,” he told reporters.

“They need to sign some players to be the Barça I remember again. It’s what all the club’s fans hope for, to be competing again for titles like the Champions League or the League.”

Barcelona are thought to be hoping a new kit deal with Nike can help boost their finances and are also seeking other investments after missing out on a €40 million payment from Libero.
