Inflation is still rising, but at a slower rate: Adam Johnson
Well, Adam Johnson to some degree is an inflation forecast and he joins us now. I think that's a shows that inflation, but yesterday and today inflation is cooling. Oh, it absolutely is, Stuart. There are four different measures of PPI producer prices that we got this morning. All four were lower and it comes just one day after yesterday. All four measures of consumer prices, CPI were also lower. In other words, we've had eight reads on inflation in 24 hours and they were all lower. Now to be clear, inflation is still rising. It's just rising at a slower rate. So it's not as though we're going to suddenly see prices decline. But this is the right direction. It's good for the market. Oh, it's absolutely good for the market. Curious that the Dow futures are actually down today, but the NASDAQ is the one you want to watch because that's far more sensitive to interest rates. And by the way, those are the names I am long. So I'm certainly happy with this as a money manager. Welcome back. And interest rates are down. That's a big deal, too. Yep.
