Wells Fargo Fires Employees For 'Fake Work'
Wells Fargo terminated over a dozen employees last month after an investigation revealed that they were conducting fake work. The employees, all working in the firm's wealth and investment management division, were let go following allegations of simulating keyboard activity to give the appearance of being actively engaged, a company spokesperson stated. Quote, Wells Fargo holds employees to the highest standards and does not tolerate unethical behavior. You can let that marinate for a minute. During the work from home period brought about by the pandemic, there was a rise in the use of devices and software to mimic employee activity known as mouse movers or mouse jigglers. This trend led to discussions on social media platforms like Reddit and TikTok, with people sharing tips on how to use such gadgets. These devices can be purchased for less than 20 bucks on Amazon. I have to admit, this story blew my mind because. I didn't know there were jobs where you could literally just pretend to be working that you weren't held to account for actual work. My advice for the kids out there, don't go into a job that you can simulate mouse activity because you will be replaced by artificial intelligence in the very near future. But not the only time that culture seems to be an issue at Wells Fargo. There was the big scandal years ago that Duplo announced right were created and that did lead to major consequences on a federal level. So be careful out there. I think we'll leave it at that. Fair enough.
