Princess Kate's brother James Middleton sends touching message after cancer update

The Princess of Wales's younger brother, James Middleton, has shared a heartfelt message on social media following his sister's latest update on her health.

Princess Kate issued a written statement on Friday evening confirming her attendance at the monarch's birthday parade, while she also gave an update on her ongoing treatment as well as her overall health, months after she first announced she had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.

Kate is currently going through preventative chemotherapy and said her treatment will be ongoing for a few more months.

She said: "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal."

The royal's message along with a new photograph released by Kensington Palace were posted on her and Prince William's social media accounts.

James, who is active on social media, particularly Instagram, commented on his sister's post with a heart emoji right below her announcement, in a huge sign of support for Kate's ongoing battle.

The Princess of Wales confirmed she will attend the celebrations on Saturday for King Charles's birthday parade and also hinted at more public appearances in the summer, health permitting.

She wrote: "I'm looking forward to attending The King's Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet."

Kate thanked royal fans for their support, saying: " I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.

"It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.

"Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me."
