Bucs' Luke Goedeke's Offers Scouting Report on Graham Barton
The NFL offseason is crucial for rookies to acclimate to their new surroundings, and Graham Barton appears to be adjusting well to life as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer.
Taken in the first round of the draft, Barton now joins an offensive line room that is tasked with protecting Baker Mayfield, who is coming off a Pro Bowl season in 2023.

The Buccaneers allowed just 40 sacks last season (11th best) as Mayfield led the franchise to a division title and a playoff win. Now, with Barton getting used to Liam Coen's offensive system, fellow offensive lineman Luke Goedeke gave an insight into Barton at minicamp.
“He just comes to work every day, shows up, tries to get better at everything” Goedeke said. “He’s really intelligent football-wise and has great speed and agility off the ball. I’m liking a lot what I’m seeing from our rookies so far.”
Due to Barton's versatility, he can play anywhere across the line, but it appears he is set to become Mayfield's new center.
With the Buccaneers looking to claim the NFC South title again, Barton looms as a key cog in Baker's protection, and Goedeke isn't the only one impressed with the rookie's approach this offseason.
"He is a stud. He's built for this," Mayfield said.
Players have described Coen's offensive scheme as hard and complex, and it appears that Barton is getting his feet underneath him.
While there will be some bumps along the road, the Buccaneers hope that Barton will be able to nail down that center role for the next decade. Going by Goedeke's words, he's well on his way.
