Back-row boost as big guns audition for NSW Origin call
Michael Maguire is edging closer to having a full complement of back-rowers to pick from for State of Origin II, with Liam Martin and Haumole Olakau'atu both cleared to play in round 14.
The morning after Cameron Murray got through his return for South Sydney unscathed, Penrith and Manly confirmed big inclusions for Sunday's games.
Martin will run out for the Panthers against Newcastle just 11 days after injuring his quad muscle in Origin I, with fullback Dylan Edwards also a confirmed starter.
Olakau'atu is set to shake off a calf injury and face St George Illawarra, with Maguire set to name his team for game two later on Sunday evening.
Among the decisions Maguire needs to make is whether to return Murray to the Blues lineup after his five-week lay off with a hip injury.
Murray's place in the side for the MCG on June 26 would come at the expense of either Cameron McInnes, Hudson Young or Olakau'atu
On Friday night, the Rabbitohs lock was confident his body would be up to the rigours of a full-blooded Origin clash if picked by NSW.

Murray got through 49 minutes for South Sydney in their 22-12 win over Brisbane.
"I'll never say no to a NSW jumper if I'm ready," he said.
"I love playing for the Blues. I came away from (the Souths return) injury free. A few cobwebs out there, but happy with the two points."
Murray's situation is one of several for Maguire to weigh up.
The Blues coach must decide whether to keep Jarome Luai and Nicho Hynes in the halves for the must-win clash, or call in the fit-again Mitch Moses.
Edwards' return for Penrith will give him a chance to win back the No.1 jersey from James Tedesco, after an ankle injury denied the Penrith star an Origin debut in game one.
Maguire must also consider whether to pick a utility on the bench, again potentially at the expense of a back-rower.
There will be one forced change, with Latrell Mitchell making his case on Friday night to replace the suspended Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii at centre in Melbourne.
The Rabbitohs fullback scored a try, set up another, had an 80-metre bust and pulled off a crucial one-on-one strip in Souths' win over the Broncos.
"If I'm there, I back Latrell," Murray said.
"He is my teammate at clubland. I know what he's capable of."
