Hungarian PM Claims Trump and EU Can End Ukraine War in 24 Hours

In an interview with Il Giornale, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized the EU's strategy regarding Ukraine, calling it a tactical failure.

He argued that influential leaders, if willing, have the capability to broker peace swiftly.

"If Trump and the EU wanted to end the war [in Ukraine], they could have done it in 24 hours. We must not forget that the war is waged by people, and these very people, if they are willing, have every opportunity to make peace," Orban stated.

He also suggested that Trump, if elected president, could secure a ceasefire in Ukraine within a day and initiate peace talks.

Criticism of EU Strategy

Orban also criticized the EU for failing in other areas such as agriculture, migration, and the economy.

He advocates for a new right-wing majority in the European Parliament after the elections on June 8-9.

"Now its [EU] leadership must go. Strengthening democracy means electing a new commission, different from the current one, which was the worst in my memory," Orban told the newspaper.

Orban emphasized the need for cooperation among right-wing parties in Europe, particularly from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Marine Le Pen, leader of the French National Rally party's parliamentary group.

"We are in the hands of two women who must come to an agreement," the Prime Minister concluded.
