England’s first tune-up for Euro 2024 was a 3-0 victory over Bosnia at St James’ Park. Cole Palmer scored from the penalty spot before two late goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Kane put the result beyond doubt.

Scroll down to leave your own ratings for the England players during Monday night’s win.

England (4-2-3-1)

Jordan Pickford

Did not have much to do in terms of saves but he will always be an important part of the back line in terms of starting moves with his passing, which will be crucial to how England play in Germany. Solid punching from crosses. Very rare ovation from the Gallowgate Stand. 6/10

Verdict: One of the first names on the team-sheet.

Ezri Konsa

During the season he split his appearances between centre-back and full-back and this versatility has given him a great chance of boarding the plance, as does his calmness on the ball and positioning. Had a chance to score as well when the ball fell to him from a corner - but his finish was saved. 6/10

Verdict: Don’t book any holidays for next week

Lewis Dunk

It was not a great couple of matches for the Brighton centre-back in March but this was better, shifting the ball quickly across the backline and when the danger arrived he blocked well and was in the right place to clear crosses. 6/10

Verdict: Good chance over younger options.

Marc Guehi

Still looks rusty after coming back from three months out after knee surgery at the end of the Premier League season. Was booked for a rare mistimed tackle when he was caught out and guilty of poor passing across his own backline, with one error leading to a chance for Haris Hajradinovic. 5/10

Verdict: Will be on the plane.

Kieran Trippier

Emotional night skippering England and leading them out with son Jacob, who was the mascot. He looks comfortable at left-back covering for Luke Shaw. He can make the same runs forward as he does on the right, then would cut inside and spread play. Took a knock and held hamstring but was fine. 6/10

Verdict: Vital part of squad

Conor Gallagher

Busy performance from the Chelsea midfielder in a deeper role than he played last season. Kept the ball ticking and drew fouls, with one from Armin Gigovic upsetting him - the last thing any player wants is an injury. Tried his luck and was off-target from long-range, and went close with driving run. 7/10

Verdict: Could be a close call

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Perfect technique for his goal. Before that he attempted to break lines with the ball in a congested area of the pitch and showed his range of passing, which got better as the game went on. Almost sent Watkins through when he split the Bosnia defence, then a reverse pass set up Palmer. 8/10

Verdict: On the plane

Jarrod Bowen

Recovered from an early knock and was lively down the right flank, attempting to carry the ball forward when possible and receiving switches of play. Had a couple of chances, one which he hit straight at the keeper. His direct running will be a handful for full-backs in Germany. 6/10

Verdict: Tough decisions in his position. Will rely on form over season

Cole Palmer

Final touch of the evening was his ice-cool penalty. He seems to thrive under pressure. This time last year he was on the fringes at Manchester City and playing for England Under-21s but now he goes into the Euros as one of Southgate’s most in-form players. First start and was put on set-pieces. Was most creative player before the goal. 7/10

Verdict: Boarding pass on its way

Eberechi Eze

Positive first start for the Crystal Palace midfielder, who got on the ball and started early attacks, winning free-kicks in dangerous areas and generally looking busy. Always wanted the ball, even in tight areas and responded well to bumps dished out by physical Bosnian players. Started on left flank but cut in. 6/10

Verdict: Could be a good impact sub

Ollie Watkins

Got through plenty of hard work up front on his own for an hour but when his chance came would have wanted to do better when sent through on goal by Palmer. Showed a threat from set-pieces, getting his head on a couple of corners which went on target. 5/10

Verdict: Boards the plane on weight of goals and assists this season
