Woman 'fizzing' after colleague gets her husband to 'mansplain' her own job to her

When you've been doing a job for a long time, you'll feel comfortable and confident in your abilities.

So, if the husband of a colleague tried to "mansplain" something to you, you might be left feeling pretty offended. One woman said she was "fizzing" after a woman she worked with got her husband to check something she'd done and claim it was wrong.

The woman prided herself in being a "professional" so was seething when her employee shared private company information with her husband. To make matters worse, the brazen worker told her to 'recheck' what she had done.

Taking to Mumsnet, the woman wrote: "I sent one of my staff a list of adjustments to be made to staff contracts.

"Figures checked and rechecked because it impacts on pay and I'm a professional. Got an email from her this morning. She's asked her husband to check the figures and he thinks they are wrong - can I recheck???? WHAT THE F***???

"I have of course told her it's inappropriate to share staff info with her husband, but in what world do you think it's appropriate to tell your boss that your husband has double checked her work and he thinks it's wrong?? I am fizzing!!"

She later posted again saying the figures were "right" and have been "nationally checked", which had made her even more angry. In the comments, one person wrote: "Jeez! Her husband checked them? Is he qualified? Sounds like she doesn't have confidence in her work let alone anyone else's."

Another person said they were "speechless", assuming she was "going to have a word with her." A Mumsnetter said: "The employee needs reporting or disciplinary action for breaching GDPR."

Another fumed: "Her husband has checked multiple salaries of your staff, yes? Not just his wife's? If the answer to the above is yes, then I would say disciplinary action is warranted!"

Meanwhile someone else chimed in: "I would consider disciplinary action against an employee who had showed her partner confidential staff information from the organisation. Appalling."
