Zendaya's longtime stylist Law Roach reveals which designers the A-list actress WILL NOT wear and why

Zendaya's go-to stylist Law Roach has dished on which major fashion brands would not dress the star at the beginning of her career.

The 45-year-old sartorial savant — who is responsible for the 27-year-old beauty's knockout red carpet looks — appeared on the Cutting Room Floor podcast this week, where he named 'the big five' designers that refused to lend their pieces to the Euphoria in her early show business days.

'I would write the big five. I would write Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Dior. And they would all say no,' Law spilled.

He said the legacy labels used to tell them to 'try again next year,' say Zendaya was 'too green,' or that 'she’s not on our calendar.'

'...And I still have the receipts,' he added. 'By the time she got to American Vogue, she still had never [worn] any of those designers. She still hasn’t,' Law said.

Law went on to note that his client eventually wore Valentino, due to the designer signing her to a campaign in 2020.

He also clarified that the Oakland native has modeled pieces from some of the five brands strictly in editorial fashion spreads, but never on a red carpet.

Roach, who is from Chicago, emphasized, 'She still has never worn Dior on a carpet. She still has never worn Chanel on a carpet. She has still never worn Gucci on a carpet — any press, any appearance, never. Never.

'The first time she wore Valentino in public is when she had a contract, so when I said, "If you say no, it’ll be a no forever," that rang true for a long, long time.'

Zendaya, full name Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, and Law are known for creating immaculate, edgy looks.

Recently the Dune actress delighted fans on her Challengers press tour, where each look was tennis-themed, on par with the film.

And on Monday at the 2024 Met Gala, Zendaya nailed the Garden of Time theme with two different ensembles.

Law was by her side, accompanying her up the stairs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, for both turns.

Law famously retired from working as a fashion stylist in 2023, after he was snubbed a front row seat at a Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week show.

He posted a picture to Instagram which showed a red sign that had 'RETIRED' written in large white letters.

'My Cup is empty….. thank you to everyone who've supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I'm so grateful for you all,' he wrote in the caption. 'If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it's not!' he added.

'The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win… I'm out.'

Roach has continued to work with Zendaya, who he lovingly refers to as his 'little sister,' and take on other notable fashion projects outside of styling.

He is currently co-hosting the new E! Entertainment competition series OMG Fashun alongside Julia Fox.
