Dr. Marc Siegel makes case for why people shouldn't get tattoos

Now, on this According to a new study, a naturally occurring substance called urolithin A may help prevent Alzheimer's. It's found in things like pomegranates, strawberries, and walnuts. Doc Siegel, Doc, I'm all ears. What do these foods do for my memory? Well, that's the key here, isn't it? It's our weekly Alzheimer's segment. And I have to tell you the good news, which is that we're talking about nicotinamide, which is vitamin B3. And I quickly checked and you know what, my B complex vitamin that I use to stay afloat with you, Stuart, I got to keep up with you. So I take this everyday B complex vitamin because my wife was a neurologist, been recommending it for years, keeps me sharp and almost up to your level. Now, nicotinamide, which is vitamin B3 is found big time in pomegranates, but you know, it's also found in pomegranates and is the reason they're red polyphenols, which is antioxidants. That's the key to preventing Alzheimer's. From what we know right now, it's the inflammation in your body that you get from oxidation. So anything that's an antioxygen. Blueberries, you mentioned strawberries. I actually hate strawberries viewers. I don't know why, but I love blueberries and I love pomegranates. I'm not a strawberries guy, but anything you can do to get those polyphenols, antioxidants, you do. And I like vitamin B complex and make sure they check your vitamin D levels, too, because the combination of vitamin D and and B complex works well. Yeah, but on the brain, you know how hard it is to eat a pomegranate. You've got to pick out all those little, tiny little red things and eat them individually. The way to go is surely juice, right? Pomegranate juice. Am I right? Am I right? I'm right. Next one. Or. Or you get it. Put it on your oatmeal. Put it on your oatmeal. Those little seeds. You don't have to sit there. Or you get someone to do it for you. Stuart, come on now. You're talking sense, Doctor. You really are. Here's something very serious, Very serious. We've got another study and it shows that people with tattoos never liked them. People with tattoos have a 21% higher chance of developing lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. As I said, I've never liked tattoo tattoos, but is this a genuine threat, Doc? I'm worried about this now. This comes from Sweden, from the Lund Institute. And I always wonder why a Scandinavian country is studying Americans. But they found out that almost 50% of Americans from the ages of 30 to 49 are tattooed. At least one tattoo. Yikes. And more and more are coming. Yikes. I am against them. I mean, you know, I actually help people get rid of them when they need to because you're putting a foreign substance on your skin and it stays there forever and it alerts your immune system in ways you may not want your immune system alerted. And guess what comes from a wrongly alerted immune system? Lymphoma. Now, that's not proof, but it's an association that needs further investigation. I plead every viewer out there of Varney and company not to get a tattoo. Please. My idea for a new successful business would be a chain of tattoo removal parlours all across the country. You think that would work? Yeah, yes. And let's, let's since we're great business minds, or at least you are, why don't we accompany that with spray on tattoos? I'm OK with that. You know, have a spray on tattoo and a tattoo removal for your bigger, deeper tattoo. And then watch Stuart on the show and, and and the medical segments every week. We just saw the pomegranate and the tattoo problem. We're just like that. I mean, what a show this is. Doc Siegel, thank you very much for joining us. We will no doubt see you again soon.
