Attacker punches, stabs Times Square bakery worker in spat over chair: cops

An attacker slugged and knifed a Times Square bakery worker who confronted him in a spat over a chair late Monday, cops said.

Thomas Montice, 30, grabbed a chair from the inside of a 24-hour bakery on Broadway near West 47th Street around 9:15 p.m. and brought it outside, police said.

The worker, 23, told Montice to return the chair, which caused Montice to turn violent, cops said.

Workers at the bakery Tuesday afternoon denied any knowledge of the attack, saying they don’t know who works at night.

A worker at a perfume store, Arabian Oud, located next door to the bakery, called the attack “heartbreaking.”

“We all work here. That’s crazy,” the worker said. “There’s crazy people in New York.”
