Arsenal fans spot Tottenham act which shows they aren't taking Man City clash seriously
Ange Postecoglou led his side on a lap of appreciation
Arsenal supporters have given up hope that Tottenham might do them a favour against Manchester City after seeing the reaction to their win over Burnley.
Spurs beat Burnley 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to end their four-game losing streak and send Vincent Kompany’s side down. The win was an important one for Ange Postecoglou’s side, who are still in with a shout of chasing down Aston Villa to claim fourth place and a Champions League spot.
Arsenal are suddenly invested in the form of their rivals because Spurs host Manchester City on Tuesday night. City destroyed Fulham 4-0 on Saturday and are in a commanding position with two matches to go ahead of Arsenal’s game against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners need to take care of business at Old Trafford first, but they are also getting anxious about the possibility of Spurs taking points off City. Pep Guardiola's side have lost all five of their previous games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Arsenal fans aren’t holding out much hope of a repeat after seeing Spurs do a lap of honour on Saturday.

Traditionally, teams head out with their families to applaud the supporters at the conclusion of their final home game of the season. But Spurs decided to do so on Saturday, despite having another match at home just three days later.
The comments underneath the video on Twitter are filled full of furious Arsenal fans. One wrote: “Don't you have Manchester City at home on Tuesday? What are you doing? Keep this lap of honour for Tuesday when you beat City!”
Another tweeted: "Tottenham doing their end of season lap of honour despite still having one home game left tells you everything you need to know. They’re not even counting Manchester City as a game left." Another defeated fan wrote: “This is next level hatred for Arsenal. Spurs have another home game on Tuesday but have decided to do their end of season lap of honour today.”
“They’re really playing their U21s next week in front of an empty stadium,” another speculated. An amused Spurs fan added: “The Arsenal fans in the comments section can't believe what they are seeing.”
Postecoglou insisted his players aren’t on the beach yet. “We've still got six points to play for. That's the key thing for us,” he said post-match. “There's a big game for us on Tuesday night against City and it will be a great test for us and the Sheffield United one. We'll see where we can get to, playing our football and see what points we get and end up.”
He added: “I think we've got what it takes to make a game of it and play our football and see where that takes us. They're an outstanding team and they and Arsenal are the benchmark of the competition right now. They're 20-odd points ahead of us and we've got some ground to make up, but it's at our place, it's 95 minutes of football and we're going to have a crack.”
