Dexter: Original Sin Cast Confirmed, A Prequel Series From ShowTime's Blockbuster Series Announcement
It has been over two years since the ShowTime sequel series, Dexter: New Blood aired its last episode, and ShowTime has just greenlit another series, Dexter: Original Sin, a prequel.
In collaboration with Paramount+, ShowTime today announced the cast of the new original drama series Dexter: Original Sin, which was previously referred to as Dexter: Origins. While it has been confirmed the original Dexter, Michael C. Hall will serve as an Executive Producer, it remains to be seen whether he will appear at all in the new series — similar to how Erik King (Sgt. Doakes in Dexter seasons one and two) served a cameo in Dexter: New Blood. But even without confirmation of his appearance, the cast of the prequel series has been officially confirmed.

Paramount describes the show by detailing, “Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcements’ radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.”
While Dexter: Original Sin is still very far from announcing a release date, fans can catch up with the original eight-season run, and the sequel Dexter: New Blood over on Paramount+ with a subscription.
