Fortnite is Getting New Mod Types

  • Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will introduce vehicle mods, a long-awaited addition for fans of the game.
  • Players have grown accustomed to weapon mods; now they can experiment with exciting new vehicle modifications.
  • The rumored collaboration with Mad Max hints at a thrilling Season 3 packed with car mods and game-changing features.

Chapter 5 Season 3's focus on cars becomes clear with the revelation that vehicle mods will be added to Fortnite. In November 2023, Fortnite had a transitory period; during this time, players got to experience Season OG between the end of Chapter 4 and the start of Chapter 5. When the current chapter began, major changes were made, and several mechanics were introduced. While players were sad to see Reality Augments go, they were happy with some of the new additions, namely weapon mods.

While weapon mods aren't a new concept to players who already dabble in shooting games, others weren't familiar with this concept and took longer to become accustomed to it. Nevertheless, weapons mods have been part of Fortnite since December, so most players now know which ones are best suited for each type of weapon. However, it seems that soon enough, gamers will have to take some time to become accustomed to a new type of mod in Fortnite.

Fortnite: When Does Chapter 5 Season 3 Start?

Fortnite fans are eagerly waiting for the Chapter 5 Season 3 'Wrecked' update to release, and here is when they will be able to hop into the game.

As a response to a tweet made by Mark Rein regarding the Chapter 5 Season 3 teaser, a fan commented that they were hoping to see vehicle mods in the upcoming Fortnite season, to which the Epic Games VP replied with a suspiciously optimistic smiley emoji. The community immediately concluded that this concept, which had been leaked back in 2021 alongside weapon mods, would be introduced with the release of Chapter 5 Season 3 on Friday, May 24.

Reliable dataminers leaked several mods expected to come to Fortnite when Chapter 2 was live. However, it took over two years for mods to finally be introduced to Fortnite, and when the time came, Epic Games decided to only add weapon modifications. According to recent leaks, it seems that vehicles will be more important than ever in Chapter 5 Season 3, so it makes sense for these mods to become part of the game at last.

Leaked Vehicle Mods

  • Gun attachments
  • Off-road tire mods
  • Environmental tire mods
  • Sturdy tire mods
  • Bumper mods
  • Booster mods

While cow catchers and off-road tires were available in the game before as throwable vehicle parts, it seems that this season will take it up a notch with exciting, game-changing modifications for players to try out. There are already plenty of rumors that Mad Max will be collaboration with Fortnite for Chapter 5 Season 3, and the addition of car mods only increases fan speculation.
