Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp scored a surprise brace after being played as an outfield player in the Bundesliga outfit's post-season friendly.

The 33-year-old was introduced as a half-time substitute in Wednesday's friendly against local amateur side VfL Germania 1894.

Eintracht Frankfurt's social media account confirmed Trapp had been brought on as an outfield player, with their usual No 1 instead wearing the No 10 shirt.

Trapp took less than five minutes to find the net in the friendly, with the shot stopper turned striker seen controlling the ball outside the area before finding the corner with a right footed effort.

'Trapp scores! Our 'new' striker finds the bottom corner with a smart finish,' Eintracht Frankfurt posted on X.

Trapp's effort gave the Dino Toppmoller's side a 9-0 lead in the friendly, with the scoring continuing throughout the second half.

The relaxed nature of the friendly was further shown when Eintracht had three goalkeepers on the pitch from the 70th minute.

Trapp scored his second from close range after a low cross in the 82nd minute, making the score 12-1.

The friendly eventually finished 13-1 at the Ahorn Camp Sportpark, with Sebastian Rode scoring the final goal from the penalty spot.

The 33-year-old, who has played for Eintracht since 2019, played the final professional match of his career when the Bundesliga season concluded last weekend.

'It was about having fun again as a team and with the fans. I think it was entertaining,' Trapp said.

'For me, the question was how long I could hold out [in attack]. 'Seppl [Rode] had a nice send-off with his goal.'

The match, which took place in front of 1,600 fans, was the final friendly of the club's 'Eintracht in the Region’ series.

The series invites amateur teams to play against Eintracht's men's, women's and legend's teams in friendlies.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported in February that 111 amateur teams had applied to be part of this year's series.

Eintracht's men's team won 11-0 against FC Alsbach in their other friendly, while their legends side are scheduled to play 11 matches.
