WNBA Rookie Angel Reese Announced As Co-Owner Of Professional Sports Team
On Tuesday, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was announced as the co-owner of the DC Power Football Club (FC).
DC Power FC is an American women's soccer team based in Washington, D.C. The club will join the USL Super League, a new Division I league operated by the United Soccer League. It is scheduled to debut in August 2024.
Reese, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft out of LSU, is a native of Baltimore, MD.
DC Power FC announced the news in a social media post on Tuesday afternoon.
"Welcome DC Power FC Co-Owner, Angel Reese!" the club posted.
The announcement was accompanied by a quote from Reese explaining her excitement over her new business venture.
“I’m honored to be able to support Power FC and invest in women’s soccer in the DMV community to continue elevating female athletes and the women’s game across the board," Reese said.

Washington, D.C. was announced as one of the eight locations for the USL Super League on May 16, 2023. Their games will be held at Audi Field, which is also the home of the MLS's DC United, in addition to a few other local soccer clubs.
After the news was posted to social media, Reese weighed in, expressing her own excitement.
"So grateful & blessed for this new ownership! Looking forward to creating new opportunities for women in professional soccer. I’ve always had to desire to invest in a local team as a Maryland native!"
