‘Drops Of God’ Season 2 Heading To Apple TV+
'Drops of God' Apple TV+
Charge your glasses. Apple TV+ is taking on Legendary Entertainment‘s Drops of God Season 2.
Quoc Dang Tran‘s French-Japanese drama adaptation of the smash manga series was a hit for the streamer and Season 2 will again be bought rather than commissioned by Apple in a rare TV acquisitions deal.
Deadline revealed last year that Apple beat a number of suitors to land the international series, which we hear had a budget of around $30M, mostly deficit financed by Legendary. Apple takes all world rights bar Japan, where Hulu Japan took Season 1 non-exclusively.
Speaking to Deadline for our Global Breakouts series last summer, Dang Tran said audiences “come for the wine but stay for the characters.”
Drops of God Season 2 will be directed by Oded Ruskin. Season one was created by Tran and produced by Klaus Zimmermann. A Legendary Entertainment production, the series is produced by Les Productions Dynamic in association with 22H22 and Adline Entertainment.
