Anthony Edwards Issues Blunt Warning to Kyrie Irving Before Western Conference Finals
Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are heading to the Western Conference Finals after Sunday night's win over the reigning-champion Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.
Edwards didn't put forward his best offensive performance, but he prided himself in his defensive effort against Jamal Murray in the second half.
Now, Edwards will turn his attention to another star guard.
After Sunday night's win, the 22-year-old superstar said he plans to match up against Kyrie Irving in the Western Conference Finals.
"My matchup's gonna be Kyrie, so that's gonna be fun," Edwards said. "We're gonna see what I can do vs. him."
Edwards and the Timberwolves overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to claim Sunday night's 98-90 victory over league MVP Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. Edwards finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Kyrie and the Dallas Mavericks also went the distance in their second-round series, taking down the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 on Saturday night.
As the higher seed, the Timberwolves will host the Mavs for the first two games of the Western Conference Finals.
