What do Man City and Arsenal need to win the Premier League title?

One of the most enthralling Premier League title races has gone down to the last day, when either Manchester City or Arsenal will be crowned champions.
Pep Guardiola’s City are aiming to become the first team to ever win four consecutive English top-flight titles, and are best-placed to do so after beating Tottenham 2-0 last Tuesday night.
Mikel Arteta meanwhile is trying to win Arsenal’s first league title since the ‘Invincibles’ season 20 years ago.
The Gunners need a miracle to overcome the Citizens on Sunday, so let’s break down the title permutations for the final day of the season:
What are the current Premier League standings?
The Premier League top two after 37 games:
- Man City: 88pts, +60 Goal Difference
- Arsenal: 86pts, +61 Goal Difference
Who are the title rivals playing?
Both title-chasing teams play at home, with City taking on West Ham at the Etihad and Arsenal up against Everton at the Emirates.
As per normal, all 10 final games of the season will kick-off at the exact same time at 4pm on Sunday, 19 May.
Both opposition teams are effectively on the beach with no danger of relegation or hope of qualifying for Europe.

No matter what happens West Ham will finish ninth in the table but will be keen to send off outgoing manager David Moyes on a high, while Everton are looking to hold on to 15th after a turbulent season where they were docked eight points for breaching financial regulations.
How can Man City win?
The title race is very much in City’s hands, with a victory over the Irons – which they are fully expected to achieve – enough to seal the title.
But given their inferior goal difference, anything less than three points could prove problematic.

Should they draw or lose, they will still be champions providing Arsenal do not beat Everton.
How can Arsenal win
You may have worked it out by now, but Arsenal must beat the Toffees to stand any chance of bringing the Premier League trophy back to North London.
They must then rely on City dropping points. Should the Citizens lose, Arsenal will win the title by a point, whilst a draw would also make the Gunners champions on goal difference.
