Turbo Advance Booking: Mammootty-starrer Surpasses Rs 1 Crore Collection, Film To Hit Theatres On May 23

Malayalam star Mammootty is eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming film Turbo directed by Vysakh. This film is all set to hit the big screens on May 23. The enthusiasm for the film among the actor’s fans can be seen with its share of staggering advanced bookings. As per reports, the pre-sales of the film have picked up.
Reportedly, it has crossed the Rs 1 crore mark in pre-booking sales as the film is edging closer to its release date. Some major cinema halls are yet to open their advanced bookings which might add to the pre-sales of Turbo. According to reports, the film is all geared up for a grand release in Germany in over 63 locations. Reportedly, it is the biggest-ever release for a Malayalam movie and the second-biggest release for a South Indian film after Leo in Germany. It will also have a massive release across more than 500 cinema halls in Kerala.
After Pokkiri Raja and Madhuraraja, Vysakh’s Turbo is the fifth movie under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. Mammootty is enacting the role of Turbo Jose in the film. The story’s premise revolves around Jose’s struggle to keep his family protected from businessmen- politician Vetrivel Shanmugha Sundaram (Raj B Shetty). The 72-year-old enacts the character of a Jeep driver. To promote the movie, the makers recently attended a press meeting where they expressed their admiration for their followers.
The Pokkiri Raja actor earlier said at the film’s promotions that he has been going strong for 42 years in the cinema because of the love from his followers. The actor said that he has no other option but cinema. According to him, it’s like breathing for him. Mammootty also said that he trusts the viewers more than screenwriter Midhun Manuel Thomas trusts the director Vysakh. “We stand on their courage. It’s been 42 years, I haven’t let go, I won’t let go again,” said Mammootty. Regarding Turbo, the actor added that he believes the audience will accept his film. However, things can go south too, he added.
