Warmest weather of the year for B.C. coming up
What a way to celebrate Canada Day. Prince George torrential downpours. It has been a sluggish start to the summer season throughout June and in fact our maximum temperatures recorded quite low for early July. We've only recorded a 24.2 for Vancouver International Airport, 25 1/2 for Victoria. Those temperatures will be greatly surpassed over the next five to seven days. But the sluggish start to summer means our fire danger rating has a little bit of a buffer built in with the above normal rainfall and below normal temperature through June. It will inevitably rise as this Ridge of high pressure will continue to build Friday into early next week across British Columbia. So Friday is really. The first warm to hot day around the South Coast, including eastern Vancouver Island, Lower Mainland. But take a look at the temperatures as we progress through this upcoming weekend. Keep an eye on a Soyuz there pushing into the low 40s by Sunday. Sunday, likely the warmest day of this heat wave event in and around Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast. And then by Monday, temperatures will cool a little bit along the coast as that thermal through pushes inland. So here's our seven day forecast for a Soyuz. There's our 40° stretch beginning Sunday into early next week. And there will be an uncharacteristically high amount of moisture in the atmosphere this upcoming weekend, So there will be a humid X Factor that can be particularly dangerous for the most vulnerable. So this is what we're feeling like inland temperatures near 40. So head to the beaches for some relief.
