This New Orleans cocktail will shake up your Fourth of July
Hi everybody, Neil Bodenheimer here. We're getting ready to do some 4th of July cocktails and we figured we do. Probably the most iconic New Orleans sour here is a hurricane, but done really well. Let's get going. 1/2 a lemon, squeeze it into our shaker. Sometimes I like to add a little extra strawberry in facinola. This is the key to any great hurricane. Fasanola is a tropical fruit syrup. This one's from Cocktail and Sons. You can also find a recipe in our book. New Orleans drinks and how to mix them a little Louisiana cane rum. You can substitute any white rum in this cocktail. A little bit of dark rum, but this we'll use Don Q7 one of my favorite rums out of Puerto Rico. Ice our glass, ice our shaker. So we're just going to shake really briefly. So strain it out. Hey showed bitters. New Orleans finest always like to add a little bitters to connect flavors. The key to any good hurricane is an umbrella. Your strawberry. And there is your hurricane. Cheers. Happy 4th.
