Syrian protesters used rocks to smash windows at this Turkish outpost. A few dozen managed to get into the military base located West of Aleppo. They were among hundreds of Syrians who protested in areas of the country under Turkish control, angered by attacks on Syrians in Turkey in recent days. There is racism in Turkey against displaced Syrians in the refugee camps, including deportation, beatings, killings. This cannot happen in Turkey as it's an ally of the Syrians in areas liberated from the Assad regime. Footage posted on social media shows crowds marching through several Turkish cities attacking Syrians they encounter. This man narrowly escaped being lynched in the city of Kazarian, central Turkey. This Syrian filmed the burned out carcass of his car. Mobs also set fire to Syrian owned businesses. The violence was in response to a case in which a Syrian was accused of harassing a child. More than 3,000,000 Syrians have been living in Turkey since the civil war broke out in 2011. Their presence in the country is highly politicised. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his re election campaign last year promised to prepare a path for more than one million to return voluntarily to Syria.
