Extended stormy start to July for The Prairies
Well, it's looking like a stormy start to July across the Prairies as we've got an extended storm risk from Wednesday stretching all the way into Friday. Now here's a look at Wednesdays thunderstorm risk. Do you have a region of severe possible encompassing the border between Manitoba and Saskatchewan, stretching up through Prince Albert and then just squeezing into Alberta, encompassing Cold Lake for heavy downpours, large hail and strong wind gusts. Now you're going to notice as this through begins to descend, all of those thunderstorms begin to initiate just ahead of the through. Dissipating in the overnight, but then we're going to see that kind of ramp back up on Thursday afternoon. Here's the look at that energy. Ahead of the through is where we get the strongest amount of energy throughout the Brandon, Winnipeg Dolphin area that is Wednesday afternoon dissipating in the overnight and then. We're going to see that pop back up in a couple regions with more severity, the same area with Brandon, Winnipeg and Dauphin, but also that QE two corridor from Edmonton down to Calgary. You get a chance at some storms as well. Now here's a look at temperatures a little bit below seasonal across western prairies, a little bit above in eastern prairies. Everyone getting into those thunderstorm icons. And then Thursday I mentioned the risk continues. As of right now, it's non severe thunderstorms and more so isolated and scattered. But we're going to still see heavy rain, small hail and strong wind gusts. Now not everyone is going to see a storm, but we do have. The potential and the energy present for storms and Thursday's icons, some in Alberta getting into sunshine and more stable temperatures. The storm risk continues across eastern Prairies.
