Wan Fayhsal stands by allocation claim
Bersatu’s Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal claimed that funds earmarked for MPs were being diverted to political parties aligned with the unity government.
PETALING JAYA: Bersatu’s Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal remains steadfast in his claim that Kelantan’s Perikatan Nasional MPs are being denied their parliamentary allocations, despite a police report filed over his assertion.
Wan Fayhsal, who is also the Machang MP, said for years opposition parliamentarians had been denied their parliamentary allocations simply because they were in the opposition.
“I don’t know why they want the police to investigate me,” he told FMT. “Why are these people so disturbed by my exposé?”
Earlier today, three unity government parties, along with the Machang village development and security committee, filed a police report against Wan Fayhsal over his claim that parliamentary allocations were only being channelled to leaders who supported Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s administration.
Machang Umno vice-chief Fakaaruddin Ismail said he lodged the report – along with representatives from Amanah, PKR, and the committee – over Wan Fayhsal’s remarks, which he claimed were “defamatory and intended to cast aspersions on political parties in the unity government”.
Approximately 100 representatives from the three parties and the committee held a peaceful protest against Wan Fayhsal near the Machang police headquarters.
Fakaaruddin said the police should take appropriate action against Wan Fayhsal and that they were prepared to pursue the case in court.
Yesterday, Wan Fayhsal claimed that funds earmarked for MPs were being diverted to political parties aligned with the unity government.
