Dodgers odds: LA big favorites vs. 3rd-place Diamondbacks

The Dodgers dropped two-of-three against the Giants over the weekend, but they appear to be on track for a bounce-back series at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Arizona is in third place in the National League West and has struggled to regain its form after making a run to the World Series a season ago. Los Angeles figures to be favored in all three games, but the series opener is a potential concern given how the pitching matchup shakes out.

Bobby Miller, who has been up-and-down in his return from the IL, takes the mound for the Dodgers against struggling D-Backs right-hander Ryne Nelson.

Nelson has a 5.69 ERA in 68.0 innings this season. Miller is rocking a 6.75 ERA in 20.0 innings.

Prediction

In a pitching matchup like this one it's hard to lean heavily toward either team. It's worth noting Nelson is actually better on the road than he is at home this season. Miller has yet to give up a run at Dodger Stadium this year, but he's pitched only 6.0 innings at home so it's hard to take that into much account. Especially when we consider that he was demonstrably better on the road than at home last season.

Signs point to some runs going up in this game though, and LA will be looking to bounce back after a dreary loss to the Giants in San Francisco on Sunday. We'll lean Dodgers in a game with plenty of offense.
