Mark Leviste reacts to ex Kris Aquino's new relationship reveal

MANILA, Philippines — Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste said he’s “happy” for ex-girlfriend Kris Aquino following her revelation that she's now seeing someone new.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, the television host revealed that she is dating a Makati-based doctor while ruling out any chance of reconciliation with the politician after their months-long split.

“Para lang malaman lang ng tao, nagkalabuan na magmula November,” said Kris, who’s been in the US since 2022 for the treatment of her autoimmune diseases.

“Sinubukang ayusin pero may mga nalaman ako na hindi ko gusto pero ayoko nang magsabi pa ng more than that because part of the reason why it didn't work out is that I'm at that stage in my life na mas gusto ko nang tahimik," she added.

Kris also said that they’re “still friendly but at a distance.”

In a statement to The STAR, Mark confirmed that he and Kris have remained on good terms, stating that he harbors no hurt feelings towards his ex.

“As Kris said we’re still ‘friendly.’ Sa totoo lang, wala naman nagbago sa akin, at wala din naman akong sama ng loob at hihinakit sa kanya. As a matter of fact, I am in the States now, while Bimb is back home,” he said in a message.

“I assured Kris, Bimb, Kris’s sisters, and their household help in Orange County that if there’s anything I can do for them, I’ll be there. If I am needed in any way, I will make myself available for them immediately.”

He further expressed that while he's saddened by the end of their relationship, he is happy for her.

“Nalulungkot man ako sa sinapit ng aming relasyon, maligaya narin ako para sa kanya. I have always put her happiness before my own, and what makes her happy makes me very happy.

“While I was watching her interview with Sir Ogie, I couldn’t help but feel starstruck by her beauty. Seeing her happy brings me solace. Likewise, I admire how Bimb carries himself — I’m proud of him, and I am confident that he has a bright and promising future ahead.”

Mark also expressed gratitude for their time together.

“The reality in this world is that things change, and I guess that’s okay. My heart will always treasure the memories we shared, and I will forever be grateful for our time together. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been given the chance to take care of Kris, love her, and be loved by her,” he said.

“Mapalad din kami ng mga anak ko na nakasama at nakilala namin ng mahabang panahon sina Kuya Josh at Bimb. My family and I will continue to pray for her health, peace, and joy. As for me, I will channel this love and energy into nurturing my children and serving the people of Batangas.”
