Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon II was arrested early on Sunday after a bottle of vodka and tequila were found in his car during a routine traffic stop, as he now faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence (DUI).

According to a report submitted by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Gordon, 20, was caught speeding behind the wheel on I-35 near Moore after a trooper traveling on the interstate noticed that he swerved twice into another lane.

The patrolman caught the vehicle going as fast as 82 mph in a 65 mph zone, which prompted him to ask Gordon to pull over.

He then reportedly smelled 'an odor associated with an alcoholic beverage' from the driver. Gordon denied that he had consumed any alcohol before hitting the road, as he instead told the police officer that he had been around intoxicated friends.

The 6-ft-2, 225lbs athlete, considered to be the top running back in college football, refused to take a field sobriety test before admitting to the trooper that he had one alcoholic drink before deciding to drive, according to the report.

When asked if there was any alcohol in his car, Gordon told the trooper that he had two open bottles of hard liquor, as a 'half bottle of lemonade vodka and a half bottle of tequila' were eventually found, according to the report.

When asked once more if he could take a field sobriety test, Gordon didn't comply and was therefore arrested on complaints of DUI under 21 years of age, transporting an open container of alcohol, failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and speeding 16-20mph over the speed limiting, according to the report.

Gordon was booked in Cleveland County jail around 3:10 am. He provided a breath sample of .11, which is above the legal limit for an adult (21 and older) to operate a vehicle, according to the report.

Gordon ranked among the most exciting college football players last season, rushing for 1,732 yards and averaging 6.1 yards per carry. He found the end zone 21 times just off of runs. The college junior also had 330 receiving yards for a touchdown.

For his efforts on the gridiron, Gordon, the most recent recipient of the Doak Walker Award, obtained his first unanimous All-American selection and won Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award.

He also finished seventh in Heisman voting after leading the Cowboys to the Big 12 Championship game against the University of Texas.

Gordon is expected to announce for the NFL Draft after the 2025 season.

He previously stated his desire to play one more season of college football at Oklahoma State.
