Glastonbury fans all have the same complaint over Coldplay's headline set

Glastonbury Festival goers were all tweeting the same thing as Coldplay started their Saturday night headline performance.

It was a record-breaking evening for the band, including frontman Chris Martin, as they set a new record by performing on the iconic Worthy Farm Pyramid Stage for the fifth time - more than any other act in the festival's history.

As the concert began, with the BBC broadcasting the event live for viewers at home, fans didn't hesitate to express their opinions online as the band, famous for hits like Yellow, Viva La Vida, and A Sky Full Of Stars, appeared on stage.

They opened their performance with the classic hit Yellow, then smoothly transitioned into their recent banger Higher Power. But as the show progressed, fans flocked to Twitter to voice their reactions.

One fan tweeted: "I like Coldplay don't get me wrong, but five times headlining #Glastonbury is just ridiculous. No band or artist should headline that many times. #Coldplay #ColdplayGlastonbury #Glastonbury24," while another commented: "If #Coldplay were playing in my garden I'd close the curtains #Glastonbury how can you headline 5 times!! "

Meanwhile, a third shared: "Feel so gutted for the 100's of 1000's that paid good money for a lame headline act #Glastonbury #Boring #Snoozefest."

Some fans were totally hyped to see Coldplay light up Glastonbury once more, however, with one fan tweeting, "#Coldplay are and always be f*****g incredible. #Glastonbury," Another was quick to point out, "Coldplay - headlining #Glastonbury 5 times."

Someone else shared their excitement, saying, "How amazing does it look at Glastonbury with all the light up wrist bands for Coldplay #Glastonbury #Coldplay," while another fan mentioned, "Coldplay might not be everyone's idea of a Glastonbury headliner, but they're undeniably one of the greatest live acts in the world #Glastonbury."

Coldplay were the Saturday headline act

Chris Martin, Coldplay's charismatic frontman, previously spoke about their nearly-missed Glastonbury debut.

In the heartfelt BBC documentary 'Coldplay: Our Glastonbury', he reminisced, "The hunger to go there was so huge. Our first introduction, I think, was probably carrying a not-very-good amplifier with a drunken tour manager who obviously didn't know what he was doing either.

"So we sort of had a very quick intake of the whole place, and then started where you should start, which is in the New Bands Tent, first on. I don't think I thought about the wider, how wild it was. It was just like we were here and we're late and it's huge."

The band made their Glastonbury debut back in 1999 in the New Bands tent, before performing again in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2016 and of course, headlining the iconic Pyramid Stage on the iconic Saturday night slot this year.
