Jennifer Garner is DONE being a 'marriage counsellor' to ex-husband Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez - and wants to step away from the 'circus' after 'painful' realization

Jennifer Garner has made a conscious decision to step back from the 'circus' surrounding her ex-husband Ben Affleck's marriage to Jennifer Lopez according to insiders, who claim the ongoing situation has unearthed 'painful' memories for the actress.

Garner, 52, and Affleck, 51 - who recently 'moved his things out' of the $60million mansion he shares with On The Floor singer Lopez, 54 - have been pictured together in recent weeks amid mounting speculation his two-year marriage is on 'shaky ground.'

Insiders had previously revealed how Garner had been acting as a 'counselor' to the beleaguered pair as she desperately tried to help them fix their alleged issues - but now sources claim the Elektra actress has decided to remove herself entirely.

'Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, "Sorry, figure this out yourself,"' an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

'It was beginning to become too painful for her because it was bringing back so many memories of their divorce.'

It comes amid mounting speculation about the state of Affleck's relationship with Lopez, with insiders previously telling DailyMail.com their two-year marriage is on 'shaky ground'

Affleck and Garner - who are parents to Violet, 18, Finn, 15 (formerly known as Seraphina), and Samuel, 12 - were previously married from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.

Garner has reportedly been struggling with the memories of her own marriage, and subsequent breakdown, to Affleck in recent weeks, and despite how much she cares about Lopez, she no longer wants to be so heavily involved.

'Throughout their marriage there were times when Jen felt like she was second to JLo even though there was no communication between her and Ben for years,' the insider said.

'She was surprised at how public he became when they reunited because he was always a man who wanted to be out of the spotlight when they were married.

'Jen opened up her home and her life to JLo because she had moved on from the past. She cares about JLo and cares about their kids and how it will affect all of them.

'But in the end, it is not Jen's circus, not Jen's monkeys and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife.'

Garner’s withdrawal comes days after DailyMail.com revealed her rumored fiancé, businessman John Miller, 46, was tiring of how involved she is in trying to ‘fix’ Affleck’s marriage.

'John wants nothing more than for Ben to be okay, but it isn’t his girlfriend’s responsibility to play babysitter to him,' an insider said last month.

‘That is for Ben to figure out on his own and for his wife to handle. It isn’t Jen’s responsibility, and he has told her this.’

On Sunday night, Affleck was seen paying a visit to Garner's home in Los Angeles.

The outing came amid reports that the he and his wife are living separately, with the Atlas actress currently residing at their $60 million mansion while Affleck is staying at a $100k-a-month rental in Brentwood.

Lopez recently returned to the United States after whisking herself away for a solo trip to Italy where she was pictured spending time with close pals during a boat day on the water in Positano.

Last week also saw the star make an appearance at Paris Fashion Week for the Dior Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 runway show.

By Saturday, the Grammy-nominated singer was seen grabbing lunch with her child Emme, 16, in Beverly Hills - but Affleck was nowhere to be seen.

The pair have been plagued by divorce rumors for months, which was further fueled when they listed their Beverly Hills mansion in early June for $65 million.

The two appear to still be in contact and have business ties: Lopez is set to star in two upcoming movies - Unstoppable and Kiss Of The Spider Woman - for Affleck and Matt Damon's production company.

This comes a week after a separate source told DailyMail.com that Lopez is 'over' trying to make her marriage work.

'Jenny has had enough and she really tried but she can do no more, it's not getting any better, it's worse,' a music industry insider told DailyMail.com.

They added that the main reason Lopez left her husband was because he was always 'grumpy and negative' like Oscar The Grouch from Sesame Street.

Lopez is sad about the end of her nuptials but 'is trying to make the best of it by working out, spending time with her twins Max and Emme and making new plans for 2025.'
