Excavator operator killed in Pengkalan Hulu tin mine

IPOH: An excavator operator has been killed after the vehicle he was in overturned at a tin mine in Pengkalan Hulu.

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said Lum Kok Hon, 56, died on the spot in the incident in Klian Intan on Tuesday (July 2).

"We received a call at 11.50am and when we arrived, we found the excavator overturned," he said in a statement.

"He (the victim) was pronounced dead at the location," he said, adding that the operation ended at about 3.15pm.
