Bayern Munich Campus Round-up: Bayern uses buyback on Armindo Sieb, loans him to Mainz; 10 youth players re-upped in one fell swoop; Gabriel Vidović returns; Bayern brings back Max Scholze; Bayern ink young Dutchman; and MORE!
Bayern Munich brought Armindo Sieb back into the fold...and loaned him right back out back in a move that could prove to be a financial masterclass if the young attacker continues to develop (per FCBayern.com).
Bayern Munich exercised its buyback option on Sieb, who the club undoubtedly is hoping to make a leap in his progress, so the club can either use him as part of its roster in Bavaria — or sell at a nice profit:
FC Bayern have re-signed Armindo Sieb from Greuther Fürth, making use of a buy-back option for the 21-year-old forward after he joined the Bundesliga 2 club in summer 2022. Sieb’s new contract in Munich is valid through to 30 June 2027. He will spend the next two seasons on loan at Mainz.
Christoph Freund, FC Bayern sporting director: “We’ve been closely following Armindo over his two years in Fürth. He’s progressed very well, especially the last season. He was among the best players in his age group for goal involvements in the second division in 2023/24. Armindo is an extremely quick and aggressive player. He’s a very good fit for Mainz with his style, and the Bundesliga is now the next logical step for him.”
Sieb first arrived at the FC Bayern Campus from the Hoffenheim academy in 2020 and made his senior debut that October in the DFB Cup. He has made 45 appearances for the FCB reserves in the 3. Liga and Regionalliga (12 goals, six assists). He played 66 games in all competitions for Fürth (17 goals, four assists) and won his first cap for Germany’s U-21s in March.

Bayern acquires Wijks
Bayern Munich kept its busy offseason for the campus going Chivano Wijks
FC Bayern has signed Dutch junior international player Chivano Wijks for its youth team. The 16-year-old full-back comes to the campus from the Feyenoord Rotterdam academy and has signed a long-term contract.
Halil Altintop, sporting director at the FC Bayern Campus: “Chivano is a dynamic and athletic full-back who has received excellent training at Feyenoord and can play in several positions. We have been observing him intensively for a long time. We are very pleased that he is now moving to the campus and will take the next steps in his development with us.”
Bayern extends Scholze
Just what the doctor order for 19-year-old defender Max Scholze...a new deal (per FCBayern.com):
FC Bayern has prematurely extended the contract with amateur defender Max Scholze. The 19-year-old has signed a new contract until June 2027, and at the same time he will be loaned to SV Verl for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Scholze is expected to take the next step in his development at the 3rd division club.
Jochen Sauer, Director of Youth Development: “Max came to our boarding school five years ago and we are very happy with his development during this time. Last season, as an U19 player, he delivered consistently good performances with our amateurs, and now it’s time for the next challenge in professional football. Like all of our loan players, we will be following Max very closely at his station in Verl and wish him every success there.”
