Police report lodged against Wan Fayhsal over allocation claim
Bersatu’s Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal was reported to have claimed that funds earmarked for MPs were allegedly diverted to political parties aligned with the unity government.
PETALING JAYA: Three unity government parties as well as the Machang village development and security committee have filed a report against Bersatu’s Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal over his claim that allocations meant for MPs were being channelled to leaders who support the administration.
Machang Umno vice-chief Fakaaruddin Ismail said the police report was lodged by him, together with representatives from Amanah, PKR and the committee over Wan Fayhsal’s remarks, which they claimed were “defamatory and maliciously intended to cast aspersions on political parties in the unity government”.
“He should base his statements on facts. There has never been any precedent of government allocations meant for MPs being redirected to political parties,” Fakaaruddin told reporters after lodging the report at the Machang police headquarters, reported Bernama.
Yesterday, Wan Fayhsal was reported to have claimed that funds earmarked for MPs were allegedly diverted to political parties aligned with the unity government.
Earlier today, some 100 representatives of the three parties and also the committee held a peaceful protest against Wan Fayhsal near the Machang police headquarters.
Fakaaruddin said police should take appropriate action against the Machang MP and they were prepared to pursue legal action against him.
