Report: Celtics agree to four-year, $125.9 million extension with Derrick White

The Celtics are making sure their title-winning core stays in place for the long-haul.
Boston has re-signed guard Derrick White to a four-year, $125.9 million extension, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Monday.
White, 29, was a key member of their 2024 title run after averaging 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.2 steals+blocks in the regular season last year.
He excelled in the playoffs as well, averaging 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.1 steals+blocks while hitting 40.4 per cent of his 3-pointers.
The Parker, Colorado native was traded to the Celtics from the San Antonio Spurs at the 2022 deadline and has since become a valuable role player for the squad.
He was named to the all-defence second team for the second straight year and also received Defensive Player of the Year votes for the first time in his career in 2023-24.
The Celtics have now locked up the entirety of their starting five for the next two seasons at least.
