The two discussed trade, at least relationship with China and Ukraine's invasion by Russia. Biden thank baloney for her country's steady support of Ukraine and the two stressed the importance of stability between Taiwan and China. They also agreed that the meeting strengthened their country's relationship. Maloney is the head of Italy's first far right government since the end of World War Two. This made Washington worry about her position on Ukraine. The two did not discuss LGBTQ issues. Rights groups say Maloney's government has eroded LGBTQ freedoms in the country.
