‘Shameful day for our nation’: Nationals Senator slams live sheep export ban
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says it is a “shameful day” for Australia following the live sheep export ban passing the Senate.
Legislation to end live sheep exports by 2028 had been hotly debated in a late-night session in Canberra, with the bill passing the Senate.
“This is the first time that I can find in our history that we have made a certain type of farming illegal,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia.
