Energy experts warn gas needed in Labor’s investment

Energy experts have told the Australian newspaper that gas should be included in Labor’s Capacity Investment Scheme.

Australian Energy Producers chief says the Labor government’s plan will underwrite 32 gigawatts of renewable energy and storage capacity.

The east coast of Australia is already battling gas shortages, and the national electricity market requires 12.8 gigawatts of new gas-powered generation to be built by 2050.
