On Tuesday, July 2, Jocinter Anyango and her husband, Michael Ouma, were overwhelmed with grief as they awaited the results of the autopsy at the Ongata Rongai Sub-County Hospital.
During a press briefing after the examination, government pathologist Peter Ndegwa revealed that Onyango died of severe haemorrhage.
Ndegwa explained that the minor suffered a single bullet that pierced across his body, severing his arteries and veins and puncturing his lungs.
"We have concluded that the cause of death is severe haemorrhage. He has one bullet which has entered from the right side of the body to the left side of the body, through both axular, shattering the arteries and veins in both axular areas. Then it perforated his two lungs. This is contrary to reports that have been going round that Kennedy was shot eight times," Ndegwa said.
How did Onyango's parents react to autopsy report
The deceased father, Ouma, stated that he was not satisfied with the report, adding that he would have to accept it as he couldn't bring back his son.
Ouma maintained that his son was shot multiple times, disputing the pathologist's report.
"We are not satisfied with that report at all; even looking at her body, it is not just one bullet," he said.
On her part, Jocinter stated that her only plea was for her son to find justice following the tragic shooting.
"My child must get justice. I have no other request," she cried out.
