Dodgers News: Shohei Ohtani's Record-Breaking Quest Continues

Shohei Ohtani's impressive performance in June has been nothing short of remarkable. As of Friday's game in San Francisco, he had a 10-game streak with at least one run batted in. Although this streak ended with a 4-3 loss to the Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts believes Ohtani's record-breaking feats are far from over.

"It's really fun to watch. I think, sometimes, you watch something everyday, and you get sort of used to it," said Roberts on MLB Network Radio. "I think with Shohei, you're just enamored with the day-to-day, and then as things start to improve, games played, statistics, all these records are going to fall.

"And these are things I never even think about. You know, nine consecutive games with an RBI... There's just going to be other things coming out of the woodwork that he is going to be chasing down."

Ohtani's recent surge has been particularly notable since the Dodgers lost Mookie Betts to a fractured hand. In a recent win over the White Sox, Ohtani went 1-for-2 with two walks and a home run, boosting his season stats to a .322 batting average, .402 on-base percentage, and .643 slugging percentage. He had homered in five of his last six games and continues to recover from his second Tommy John surgery.

With 26 home runs and 16 stolen bases through 82 games, Ohtani is on track for a historic 50/30 season, a feat never accomplished in MLB history. Despite a reduced workload due to his injury, Ohtani feels he's improving as a hitter and is pleased with his performance in the first half of the season.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Ohtani to see what other records he might break and how he continues to elevate his game.
