Vinicius Jr addressed Copa America issues after a 4-1 victory

Vinicius Jr. has been outspoken about his criticisms of Copa America following Brazil's progression to the second round, having secured second place in Group D.

The Brazilian star didn't mince his words after defeating Paraguay, pointing out areas of the tournament that he believes need improvement. Vinicius Jr. showcased his remarkable talent, netting twice in Brazil's commanding 4-1 victory over Paraguay in their most recent tournament match.

His first goal was a testament to his footballing intelligence, coming from a darting run from the wing. He skilfully manoeuvred between two defenders to receive a pass across the box and perfectly placed the ball into the back of the net, leaving spectators in awe of his skill.

In a memorable moment during the first half's extra time, Vinicius displayed his flair on the wing, flamboyantly past defenders with flick tricks until he was brought down by Damian Bobadilla. Incensed that no card was shown for Bobadilla, a heated exchange ensued on the touchline between the two teams.

Amid the commotion, Brazilian Wendell received a yellow card, leaving fans and his teammates watching the game perplexed. But Vinicius Jr. wasted no time making his mark again, scoring his second goal less than three minutes after the altercation, securing Brazil's victory.

The Brazilian star's passion was evident in his celebration after the goal, which gave Brazil a comfortable lead as the match neared its end. His dedication didn't stop there, as he expressed his frustrations about the tournament and its organisation during a post-match interview.

"The Copa America is always difficult because of the pitches, he said. " he said. "Because of the referees who always go against us and because of the way CONMEBOL treats people. It's always difficult, but we have to stay strong.

"We can only talk by winning. When we talk, CONMEBOL say we talk too much."

Vinicius Jr. isn't the only one voicing concerns about the pitch conditions. Lionel Messi had already started complaining about some of the MLS stadium pitches even before the tournament began, following his move to Inter Miami.

During the opening match of the Copa America between Argentina and Canada at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the pitch was heavily criticised for being below standard. Argentina's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez labelled it a "disaster" and "bumpy", warning that the tournament could be seen as second-rate if Copa America doesn't improve its fields.
