Sonet drives Kia sales in June, carmaker reports 10% growth
With Sonet garnering handsome numbers, Kia India recorded a 9.8% year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in domestic wholesales at 21,300 units in June 2024.
The company sold 19,391 units in the domestic market in June 2023.
Kia currently offers the Sonet, Seltos, Carens and EV6 in India. In June 2024, the Sonet was Kia's best-selling model at 9,816 units.
In the first half of 2024, Kia's domestic volumes rose 6% y-o-y at 126,137 units, with a contribution of 43% from the Sonet, 32% from the Seltos and 25% from the Carens.
While the company exported 3,206 units in June 2024, it shipped 12,026 units in H1 2024.
"We have observed healthy month-on-month sales growth in H1 2024, averaging over 21,000 units per month. Our superior product offerings have consistently attracted customers to our showrooms throughout the year, maintaining a strong sales position," said Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President, and National Head Sales and Marketing, Kia India.
"We are committed to sustaining this positive trend for the remainder of the year through network expansion and by adding value to our customers' aspirations," he added.
Kia India recently surpassed 250,000 units export milestone to over 100 markets from its Anantapur plant.
