Unforgotten star lands role in huge Netflix comedy thriller written by Derry Girls boss
Lisa McGee, the brains behind Derry Girls, has revealed a star-studded cast for her upcoming Netflix series.
Her new show, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, will star Sinead Keenan of Unforgotten fame, alongside actors Roisin Gallagher and Caoilfhionn Dunne. The trio play three childhood friends in their late 30s grappling with the death of their fourth friend.
Not only is Lisa penning the script, but she's also taking on the role of executive producer for this comedy thriller series. The show has already kicked off filming in Northern Ireland.
In a statement about her latest project, Lisa expressed: "I couldn't be more excited to start production on How to Get to Heaven from Belfast. I've loved writing Saoirse, Robyn and Dara three flawed, funny women who are about to embark on the most thrilling and terrifying adventure of their lives."

She continued: "A mystery full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing and make you laugh out loud. Let's go girls!" reports the Express.
Lisa is also joining forces once again with Derry Girls' director Michael Lennox and also with producers Caroline Leddy and Liz Lewin for this eight-part series. More casting announcements are expected in due course.

To whet fans' appetites, the show's synopsis has also been released. It reads: "Clever, chaotic TV writer Saoirse (Gallagher), glamorous, stressed-out mother of three Robyn (Keenan), and dependable, inhibited carer Dara (Dunne) have been a tight-knit group since school."
"When an email arrives, telling them about the death of the estranged fourth member of their childhood gang, Greta, a series of eerie events at her wake set them on a dark, dangerous and hilarious odyssey through Ireland and beyond as each tries to piece together the truth of the past."

The upcoming show, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, promises a riveting exploration into the depths of friendship, the fickleness of memory, and lifes unpredictable turns. Initially secured by Channel 4, this compelling drama has been scooped up by Netflix for global streaming.
What's more, for fans of Irish humour, Netflix also houses the entire Derry Girls saga, the much-loved series that concluded its third and final season last year. So if fans are missing their Derry Girls fix, they can tune in on that platform.
