MANILA, Philippines — Two to three tropical cyclones may form or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this July, the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday.

Administrator Nathaniel Servando of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also told The Manila Times via Viber that there may be 13 to 16 tropical cyclones until end of the year. Typhoon "Aghon" was the first to hit the country in late May.

Meanwhile, the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is affecting Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan where cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail, weather specialist Rhea Torres said.

The Pagasa forecaster said the easterlies will be bringing isolated downpours or thunderstorms over Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas within the next 24 hours.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms, the state weather bureau said.
