Returns will be ‘significantly harder to come by’ in the second half of the year: Jason Katz
I want to get back to the markets on this, bring in Jason Katz, who you know, look. Are we going to see the Dow is now off 16 points, but what relevance does this have to the markets, if any, Jason? Well, look, you know, the second-half of the year returns are going to be significantly harder to come by, but not insurmountable. It's decision time, not only for voters, but it's decision time for the Fed. And yes, there are other things at play that will shape the direction of the market. It, of course, will be the direction of earnings. It'll be whether inflation continues to abate. It'll be the outcome of the election. But above all, I think it's going to be the Fed and what the Fed will do. Versus what it should do are likely to be two very different things. Very interesting. But as we start the second-half of the year, Jason, you say it's harder to to to perhaps build and what we saw in the first half, but we're still expecting AI and the big tech names, the Nvidia's to continue to move higher. Is that right? I expect them to hold their gains, but not necessarily take us home for the party. I think what will take us to the party in the second-half of the year are places of the market that have frankly been unloved, whether it be healthcare, industrial. Small cap look, if we don't have a recession, if it's a soft landing, the disparity between growth and value, large and small tech and everything else, is it it it's such a wide, you know, cavernous difference in valuation that I think you're going to see a big catch up trade in the latter part of the year. Very interesting bottom line. Last question for you, Jason here. Does the markets love want a Donald Trump victory? I think the markets want a red sweep, whether they get it or not are two different things if we get that red sweep. Agriculture, financials, health care, all places where we've had onerous regulation could see a major lift. Very good point. Great stuff, Jason. Thank you very much On a very big day when it comes to the law and the Supreme Court ruling on immunity.
