The 2024 NFL season is right around the corner and the Los Angeles Chargers are hoping to take a big leap forward and become a playoff team. With Jim Harbaugh leading the way as the team’s head coach and star quarterback Justin Herbert running the show on the field, things are looking bright.
When the Chargers made the move to hire Harbaugh, it was instantly assumed that Herbert would have his biggest NFL season to date. Harbaugh is known as a top-notch quarterback coach.
Herbert has shown off his potential as a legitimate superstar NFL quarterback, but he has yet to win at a high level. For him to prove that he deserves the hype of being an elite quarterback, he needs to win.

While the 2024 season is right around the corner, Harbaugh did not hold back from praising his quarterback. The Los Angeles Chargers’ new head coach opened up about his thoughts on his current situation.
“The conditioning test was another eye-opener. Just when you think he can’t go another rung on the ladder of my esteem, anyway, he finds another one. He smashed the conditioning test last Thursday. I mean, crushed it, like out in front with people trying to keep up with him. To the point, the athleticism and strength, really, he could play tight end here. He could play edge rusher here.”
Harbaugh also did not hold back about the arm talent he has seen in his young quarterback.
“The arm talent is even better than advertised. It’s an exciting thing. I found myself just sitting at my desk at times, going, ‘He’s on our team!’ You know it’s not just in shorts because I’ve seen him do this in 11-on-11, NFL, padded football games.”
Those are massive quotes from a head coach as renowned as Harbaugh. Clearly, things are going well between the new coach and his star quarterback.
During the 2023 NFL season with the Los Angeles Chargers, Herbert ended up playing in 13 games. He completed 65.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,134 yards, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also picked up 228 yards and three scores on the ground.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, the Chargers appear to be back on track and could be a sleeper team to watch in the AFC.
