Jane McDonald swaps TV for theatre in star-studded Robin Hood panto at The London Palladium

Jane McDonald has excitedly announced she's taking a dazzling leap from our screens to the stage, as she's set to star in the festive panto 'Robin Hood' at The London Palladium.

The 61 year old presenter and singer, will be playing none other than Maid Marion, joining a stellar cast that includes the likes of Julian Clary and former Corrie star Nigel Havers.

Taking to Instagram to share the "exciting" news with her fans on Monday (July 1), Jane couldn't contain her joy: "It's going to be a busy Christmas this year - I'll be performing in The London Palladium's panto, Robin Hood, which runs from Saturday 7 December 2024 - Sunday 12 January 2025! " She added, "I'll be starring as Maid Marion, with Palladium panto royalty Julian Clary as Robin Hood. I'm so excited! ! Tickets available from the London Palladium website. @talent4media @thelondonpalladium."

The announcement was met with an outpouring of love and excitement from her followers, with comments like "Never been this excited for a casting. Can't wait," another chimed "All booked so can't wait. Lots of luv Jane always."

Others have already snagged their tickets, sharing their anticipation: "I already have my ticket @thejanemcdonald. Looking forward to seeing you x," and "Booked! ! See you on 11th Dec."

But that's not all for Jane; her diary is brimming as she's also embarking on a UK tour later in the year. Her 'With All My Love Tour' starts in October, promising to bring her charm and talent to audiences nationwide.

Taking to Instagram with a snap of the tour poster, Jane encouraged fans to grab tickets quickly as many dates are already sold out.

The Celebrity Gogglebox beauty penned: "Tickets for my 2024 "With All My Love" tour are selling fast... have you booked yours yet? It's been some time since my last tour which makes this tour all the more exciting. I can't wait to see you all again, and to perform in front of a live audience! ! ".

In addition to her touring news, Jane has prepared a treat for her fans with a fresh book titled Let the Light In. The book shares its name with her 2021 album, which features twelve melodies penned by Jane herself.
