Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, Meghann Fahy to Star in Netflix Limited Series ‘Sirens'
Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, and Meghann Fahy are all set for lead roles in the upcoming Netflix limited series "Sirens."
Variety exclusively reported in February that the dark comedy series was coming to Netflix. It hails from "Maid" creator Molly Smith Metzler and is based on her play "Elemeno Pea."
The series is told over the course of a weekend at a lavish beach estate. Per the official logline, "Devon (Fahy) thinks her sister Simone (Alcock) has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Moore). Michaela's cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it's time for an intervention. When Devon tracks her sister down to say WTF, she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be."
Moore is one of the most celebrated actresses of her generation. She has received five Academy Award nominations to date for the films "Boogie Nights," "The End of the Affair," "Far From Heaven," "The Hours," and "Still Alice," with the last of those films earning her the award for best actress. She is also an Emmy Award winner for playing Sarah Palin in the 2012 film "Game Change." She has recently starred in shows like "Mary & George" and "Lisey's Story."

Fahy recently received strong critical acclaim (and an Emmy nomination) for her work in Season 2 of the hit HBO series "The White Lotus." She is also known for the Freeform series "The Bold Type," on which she starred for five seasons. Her other credits include "One Life to Live" and appearances on shows like "The Good Wife," "Gossip Girl," and "Chicago Fire."

Alcock is best known for her role in Season 1 of the "Game of Thrones" prequel "House of the Dragon" at HBO. It was announced in January that she will take on the role of Supergirl in the rebooted DC film universe. She has also appeared in shows in her native Australia like "Pine Gap" and "A Place to Call Home."

"Sirens" is the first project under Metzler's multi-year overall deal with Netflix, which she signed following the breakout success of "Maid." She serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on "Sirens" under her Quiet Coyote banner. Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie also executive produce for LuckyChap. Nicole Kassell will direct the first two episodes and also serve as executive producer.
