Red Wings sign G Jack Campbell to one-year contract

Jack Campbell has found a new home.
Just days after being bought out by the Edmonton Oilers, the veteran goaltender inked a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Detroit Red Wings, the club announced Monday.
Campbell, 32, made the opening-night roster for the Oilers last season, but struggled through the first month of the season and was eventually put on waivers and reassigned to AHL Bakersfield. In 33 games with the Condors, Campbell had a .918 save percentage and 2.63 goals against average.
The Port Huron, Mich., native signed a five-year, $25 million contract with the Oilers ahead of the 2022-23 season after a respectable three years with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Campbell has also played games for the Dallas Stars and Los Angeles Kings in his 10-year professional career.
He was selected 11th overall by the Stars at the 2010 NHL Draft.
